Organ donors

It raining heavy and very windy. It was a nasty ride home. At least the snow is receding. I have been remiss about posting. Sometimes there just isn't anything going on. Other times I just dont feel like writing about it...

EMS patched in tonight with a 24 YO unresponsive male. There has been a rash of bad heroin in the area resulting in some deaths. I was curious this might be another OD. Not so. Apparently the guy tuned up his girlfriend pretty bad. Happy valentines day. When the cops arrived he jumped out the window intending to hold onto the sash, to hide from them. He couldn't hold on and fell- five stories. We call people like this organ donors. They intubated him and packaged him up to go to a Level 1 trauma center. The ambulance wouldn't start. So they had to put him in another one and send him south.

"Cupid" is still in one of our psych rooms. Two nights ago he held his family hostage with a crossbow and then held the police swat team at bay for several hours before they went in and got him.
